Q: Why does the Trust verify dependent eligibility?
A: The dependent verification process allows the Trust to update dependent information and then monitor it for the future. It’s important that all dependents covered under the Plan meet eligibility requirements, so that the Trust can continue to maintain high quality benefits for Trust members and their families.
Q: Who needs to verify dependents?
A: Anyone eligible for Health Trust benefits who enrolls a dependent.
Q: What does Secova do with my documents?
A: Secova enforces a strict company privacy policy to ensure that the information you submit by any method (including paper, electronic and telephonic) remains secure. When Secova receives your paper documents, they are scanned to an electronic image. This image is stored on a secure system with password-protected access. After the verification process is complete, Secova will destroy all copies and images.
Q: How does Secova protect my personal information?
A: Secova does not disclose, sell or share personal information with anyone or any company. All Trust member data is kept confidential and private throughout each step in Secova's work processes. Incoming data is transferred via a secure ftp site, encrypted e-mails, or password-protected web uploads, then stored in Secova’s password-protected databases. Secova’s Information and Data Security Plan is fully compliant with all current federal regulations and international standards.
Q: Will I receive confirmation when verification is complete?
A: Yes. Secova will send you a confirmation notice. If your Verification Form or Required Documents are incomplete, Secova will send you a notice that lists all additional information needed to complete the process. You may go online to the Trust’s Dependent Eligibility Verification secure website at https://verify.secova.com/SD1Trust to check the status of your dependent eligibility verification at any time.
Q: What if I miss the deadline to submit my documents?
A: Your dependent(s) will no longer be eligible for coverage under the Plan, if you do not submit the required documents by the deadline. You may also be required to reimburse the Plan for benefit payments made on behalf of ineligible dependents.
Q: What do I do if my enrolled dependent is no longer eligible?
A: Check the appropriate box on the Verification Form for each dependent who does not meet the Plan’s eligibility requirements and return it to Secova. Secova will notify the Trust, and coverage for your dependent(s) will be terminated.
Q: What are the options for an enrolled dependent who is no longer eligible?
A: An enrolled dependent(s) who is no longer eligible for coverage MAY be eligible for Self-Pay coverage, if the loss of eligibility is due to a qualifying event (such as a spouse who divorces or a child who becomes too old for coverage) that has occurred within the last 30 days.
Please refer to the Life Events page for details, and notify the Trust of the qualifying event to ensure that Self-Pay information is mailed to you. The Trust reserves the right to request documentation proving prior eligibility status, such as a divorce decree or court order, from individuals who enroll in Self-Pay.
