Portland Public Schools offers an excellent way for you to set aside more of your income in a retirement account to supplement your Social Security and PERS/OPSRP retirement benefits. Any contributions you make reduce your taxable income now, and allow you to save money with pre-tax dollars. Of course, you'll pay taxes when you withdraw those savings after you retire, but it may be reasonable to expect that by then you will be in a lower tax bracket. ALL PORTLAND PUBLIC SCHOOLS EMPLOYEES ARE ELIGIBLE TO CONTRIBUTE TO A 403(b) ACCOUNT.
You are spending the money anyway, why not have it be tax-free?
Portland Public Schools provides a benefit plan that allows you to use tax-free dollars for HEALTHCARE and/or CHILDCARE.
Your FSA enrollment form is due 31 days from the date of employment, or during each November open enrollment period.
If you have a dental plan as a Trust member or participate in the Trust Medical Plan (both of which are administered by Regence), you are eligible for special discounts including gym membership, vision care, hearing aids, pet care and much more.
Go to www.regence.com/advantages for details.
If you have questions, please contact Regence at (866) 240-9580.
