Drug Take-Back Program

It’s estimated that the United States generates 200 million pounds of pharmaceutical waste each year, with limited options for proper disposal. It is a goal of Kaiser Permanente to reduce the risks posed by these medications by providing a take back-program for unused or expired medications – FREE to members and non-members.

Here’s how you can take advantage of this program:

Option 1: Drug Take-Back Kiosks in Pharmacy lobbies in locations where state/federal regulations allow. The kiosks are available during regular pharmacy hours. Kiosks are located at the following Kaiser Permanente pharmacies:

  • Beaverton: 4855 SW Western Ave., Beaverton, OR 97005
  • Interstate East: 3550 N. Interstate Ave., Portland, OR 97227
  • Rockwood: 19500 SE Stark St., Portland, OR 97233
  • Skyline: 5125 Skyline Rd S., Salem, OR 97306
  • Sunnybrook: 9900 SE Sunnyside Rd., Clackamas, OR 97015
  • Scott: 9800 SE Sunnyside Rd., Clackamas, OR 97015 – coming soon!

Option 2: Send Away Mailers are available at every KPNW outpatient pharmacy. These are given out at the pharmacy counter upon request, free of charge. These mailers are postage-paid and sent for safe drug disposal via US Postal Mail.
